A lightweight bout between Jeremy Stephens and Marcus Davis is in the works for UFC 125 on New Years day.
Stephens (18-6, 5-5 UFC) dropped a close split decision to Melvin Guillard at UFC 119. The loss snapped Stephens' two-fight winning streak.
Davis (17-7, 9-5 UFC) will drop to lightweight for the first time in his career after dropping three of his past four fights at welterweight. Most recently, Davis lost by technical submission to Nate Diaz at UFC 118, earning Fight of the Night honors in the process.
