Thiago Alves vs. John Howard on tap for UFC 124

Welterweights Thiago Alves and John Howard will face each other at UFC 124 on Dec. 11.

The bout was first reported by MMA Junkie, and was confirmed by Fighters Only.

Alves is looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses to Goerges St. Pierre and Jon Fitch, the top two welterweights in the sport.

Howard saw his seven-fight win streak snapped in a TKO loss to Jake Ellenberger at UFC Live on Versus 2.
